Review – The Love Magnet Rules: 101 Tips for Meeting, Dating, and Keeping a New Love by Chad Stone

Synopsis: Chad Stone’s The Love Magnet Rules offers women step-by-step advice for finding their perfect romantic partner. The tips are straightforward and easy to follow. The book covers everything from how to get yourself in the mindset for love, how to talk to the opposite sex, what to do when you think you’ve found The One, and how to use your Love Magnet skills to keep your love alive.

When I first read the description, I thought another self-help book that reads like a boring text book but it was not. It was delightfully entertaining and realistic with tips that are practical that can be applied in all types of relationships. I commend the author for the time and research it took to put together the tips smoothly so that they are very straightforward. The first tip is believe you are a love magnet. I agree with the author that all change starts with the mental belief. The author uses good humored examples to support concepts like watching for body language, date your lover first before introducing to kids and using a good head shot for the online profile.

I also appreciate that although the tips are mainly geared to how to make a person more desirable in finding a partner that some could also be used in maintaining the spark in a relationship. The tips I will try to apply in my own relationship are being a better listener, not taking my love for granted and incorporating a code phrase that lets my significant other know “this is important to me”. The only tip that I disagreed with is using the golden rule and would replace it with the platinum — treat someone as he/she wants to be treated. Overall, great read for anyone who has started dating again or looking for a way to rekindle the passion.
